Today, on World
Health Day, the Kazan City Hall has hosted a solemn ceremony honoring the
medical dynasties of the city. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin presented
letters of thanks and memorable gifts to six families in which several
generations have committed their lives to medicine.
“Relying on the
wisdom of your ancestors and experience, applying modern methods of treatment
and diagnostics, you contribute to the creation of a strong, innovative and
effective healthcare system that successfully accepts and reflects new,
sometimes seemingly insurmountable challenges of the time”, - the Mayor noted.
Congratulating
the guests, the head of the city noted that this honored profession requires profound
knowledge and high moral qualities such as mercy, sensitivity, attentiveness
and sincere compassion. As well as courage for coping with the tasks, I.
Metshin believes. Today, more than 3,400 doctors work in polyclinics and
hospitals in Kazan, who save thousands of lives every day. “Many of you have
been working on the frontline of the pandemic for two years, risking your own
health and not seeing your families for months”, - the Mayor noted.
Among the family
dynasties that were honored today, there are those whose overall experience in
healthcare reaches more than 100 years and even exceeds 320 years.
Letters of
thanks by the Mayor of Kazan were presented to the dynasties of Minabutdinov,
Lodvikov, Ibragimov, Savelyev, Vakhitov, as well as Tatiana Kamaletdinova from
the Medvedchuk and Kolomenskiy dynasties.
“Family
traditions are very important for medicine. We can transfer to our children the
invaluable knowledge, which we have gained because of hard work”, - Rashida
Vakhitova shared. - I have loved my job all my life, and this love was transferred
to me from my parents”. The Vakhitov dynasty has 328 years of overall family
experience. Rashida Kharisovna's parents devoted their whole lives to
healthcare. Working in hospitals and teaching at medical universities, they
have raised more than one generation of qualified doctors.
Rashida
Vakhitova has more than 50 years of experience in medicine. Having worked as an
infectious disease doctor for 34 years, she has been a pediatrician at the
children's polyclinic No. 6 for 17 years. She was able to transfer her love for
the profession to her daughter Alfia Zufarova, who works at the Republican
Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. Now she is helping patients in the red
zone of the COVID center of the Republican Clinical Hospital. In addition,
Rashida Vakhitova's brother and her four aunts also devoted their lives to
healthcare.
“For me, medical
profession is a family tradition. My mother worked as a nurse at the central
district hospital for 27 years. I know how hard the doctors work. We bow our
heads before your work”, - the Mayor added.
The head of the
city noted that many regional and federal programs on improvement the
healthcare system are being implemented in Kazan today. Every year new medical
centers and hospitals open in the city. The day before, a new building of the
integrated tuberculosis dispensary opened in the capital of Tatarstan, which
united all the departments of the dispensary, including children's department
and fluorography, and the administrative and economic building.
The solemn
ceremony of honoring medical dynasties in Kazan has been held for the fifth time.
