AO Tatelectromontazh, the Union of Veterans of
Tatarstan, Irek Boguslavsky, deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly
of Russia, and Veronika Kudermetova, a tennis player and honored master of
sports of Russia, will be included in the Book of Honor of the capital of
Tatarstan. This proposal was supported unanimously by the Presidium of the
Kazan City Duma at a meeting at the Kazan City Hall.
“All the proposed candidates certainly deserve the
highest praise. I ask you to support the proposed candidates,”- said Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
The Union of Veterans of the republic of Tatarstan provides
assistance to war veterans. The key area of the union's activity is the
patriotic, spiritual and moral education of young people. The priority area of
activity is to collect and provide assistance to participants of the special
military operation and their families.

Tatelectromontazh, one of the largest electrical services companies in Russia,
participated in the construction of various plants in Tatarstan and the
construction of two cosmodromes: Baikonur and Plesetsk. The company also
contributed to the preparation for such major events as 2013 Universiade in
2013 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
Irek Boguslavsky, a deputy in the Russian State Duma,
started his career as entrepreneur. In 1999, he took over as the head of Kazan
Chemical Plant and transformed it into the Nefis Cosmetics Group. In 2023,
Boguslavsky founded the Nefis Charitable Foundation with the aim of supporting participants
of the special military operation and new regions.
Veronika Kudermetova, a tennis player and Honored
Master of Sports, was born in Kazan and has become another candidate for the
award. In July 2025, she, together with the Belgian athlete Elise Mertens, won
Wimbledon in the doubles category. This was the seventh victory in the history
of Russian tennis doubles.
The award ceremony will be held on August 30, the Day
of the City and the Republic.
