The fourth stage of the renovation of Raketa Stadium — the
home arena of the Ak Bars–Raketa professional bandy club — has been
completed. The athletes’ locker rooms have been expanded, a medical office has
been equipped, and comfortable recreation areas as well as facilities for
tactical game analysis have been created. Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan,
inspected the progress of the works. A tour of the stadium was conducted by
Igor Batmanov, defender of the Ak Bars–Raketa bandy team.
“The
renovation of the legendary Raketa stadium in Derbyshki continues. It is not
just a stadium — it is a legend. Hundreds of boys trained here to
become professionals, and thousands of fans with their families came here to
cheer for their team. We have done a lot of work, and much more needs to be
done. The most important thing is that we see children, young men, and a youth
team. Raketa keeps the love for the native Russian sport and the traditions of
Derbyshki alive. And we will support them,”-said Ilsur Metshin.
The renovation of the stadium has been underway since 2022. During this
period, key infrastructure upgrades have been completed: refrigeration stations
and lighting poles were replaced; the football pitch and running tracks were
refurbished; and comprehensive works were carried out to waterproof the stands,
repair the roof and the utilities, as well as renovate the facade.
The fourth stage of the renovation began this March and interior work in
the Sports palace. The engineering systems (ventilation, alarm system, power
supply) were completely replaced in the premises, the walls were insulated and
the interiors were finished using wear-resistant materials.
A dedicated functional unit has been created for the Ak Bars‑Raketa
team. The facility comprises a locker room, a drying room, a warm‑up room
equipped with exercise bikes and athletic barbells, a medical office, a sauna,
a massage room, and a special tactics room fitted with upholstered furniture
and a large screen. This setup enables the coaching staff and players to
conduct a detailed analysis of every training session and match.
The renovated lobby of the
stadium has been decorated in a blue and white color scheme. It now features
modern navigation systems, a dedicated waiting area, and a “Wall of Honor”
showcasing the team’s history and achievements.
Approximately 130 people use the facility daily, including around
100 children and 30 athletes from the Ak Bars‑Raketa club.
