I.Metshin: “There is a solution for 53 houses, but other 2 thousand houses are in the risk zone”

Gas supply was restored in 41 apartments after repairs of smoke extraction systems and ventilation ducts. The work was done in apartment buildings that have gas water heaters. Contractors use modern control systems to detect defects in these houses. Currently, gas supply has been temporarily suspended in 53 more houses because of the identified defects. 

In order to prevent incidents, the repair of such systems in Kazan will be carried out during the overhaul of apartment buildings. 

“This is a huge issue. When we visit houses and yards, people complain. But at the same time, they understand that this issue of their safety. The houses were built according to the project which included a natural supply of air through the cracks of wooden windows. Plastic windows are now installed, it has become warmer, but accordingly such houses and entrances are at risk. There is a solution for 53 houses, but we have more than 2,000 houses in the risk zone,”- the Mayor of Kazan said. 

“Property management organizations are involved in repairing apartments,”- added Iskander Giniyatullin.
