By 2040, it is planned to establish 17 transport hubs
in Kazan for the interconnected development of all modes of passenger
transport. In the capital of Tatarstan, the Transport Planning Bureau, which is
supervised by the Deputy chief architect of Kazan Timur Kadyrov, is engaged in
working out and analyzing relevant issues.
Improving the quality of transport services is one of
the main indicators in the dynamics of the city development, Kazan Mayor Ilsur
Metshin said today at the Business Monday. “Today, the main challenge in the
city’s development is ensuring the accessibility of public and personal
transport. It has become the impetus for the establishment of the Transport Planning
Bureau”, - Ilsur Metshin said.
“This year, 19 transport model-based projects were
considered. Together with other divisions of the Executive Committee, the
Bureau's experts are working to analyze and prepare proposals for the
implementation of priority transport projects”, - Timur Kadyrov told.
The Bureau also
work on territorial planning documents. Among these projects is transport and
pedestrian services in the project development of the site on Rodina street.
In the recent work on the concept of development of
the territory of a cargo river port, transport modeling was carried out. Based
on its results, a proposal for transport and pedestrian services was formed,
taking into account proposals for public and bicycle transport. As part of the
instructions of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the territory from the
Kirovsky dam to the river port is being analyzed, the Deputy chief architect of
Kazan added.
A separate activity
of the Bureau is the formation of a system of transport interchange hubs (TIHs).
“They are being established and planned near metro stations, as well as railway
stations to ensure the interconnected development of all modes of passenger
transport. In total, the General Plan plans to establish 17 TIHs by 2040. The
experts are working on fundamental decisions in the framework of TIH on Abzhalilov
street”, – the speaker noted. The transport hub should become one of the
entrances to the territory of the future Russian-German Switzerland park.
“The Bureau
offers well-developed, carefully considered solutions, but implementation will
depend entirely on funding. It is important that we talk about this today. We
will be able to consistently achieve the goals set in the interests of the
population”, - the Mayor of Kazan concluded.
