The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the renovated youth club “Icarus” in the village of
Levchenko in the Moskovsky district. After the overhaul, the number of children
and teenagers attending clubs and sections here has doubled. The head of the
city visited the classes and saw what conditions were created for them.
The youth club “Ikar”,
located on 23 Rakhimov street, was established 30 years ago. The building where
it is located was in poor condition, so it was included into the overhaul program
of youth clubs. The work was completed in 2019. “We are happy, it is much more
pleasant for children to study in a beautiful space”, - said Elena Voronkova,
head of the “Ikar” club.
The renovation of the youth club was a real gift for
its employees and students. “I am especially happy for the Levchenko village,
our remote areas of the city, - said the Mayor of Kazan. –Town settlements
particularly need to have the environment of the capital”.
After the renovation, the number of children and
teenagers who come to the club has doubled to 145 people. Students attend
classes in sambo, judo, physical education, yoga, fine arts, sewing and
carpentry, and others.
The Mayor of Kazan visited a technology class where
children study sewing. The head of the city also attended classes on weaving
from paper tubes, sambo and physical education.
“The program of renovation of youth clubs is
important. There only 65 of them, we have slowly repaired 59, and now 16
thousand children can study in such wonderful conditions outside school hours,
- Ilsur Metshin said. – And it is important that children not only develop
skills, but also interact with their peers”.
