The second stage of the grants competition for the self-employed
has ended in Kazan. “We hope that our municipal grants will help to solve
professional issues, and the number of self – employed people will increase”, –
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said today at a Business Monday.
The city competition for grant support was organized
on behalf of the Mayor of Kazan and was held in two stages. The first started
on June 4, the second-on June 11. Within two stages, 100 grants will be offered.
Artur Valiakhmetov, Chairman of the economic development committee, noted that
the commission mainly rejected applications that did not meet the requirements
for the minimum amount of tax paid and registration on the territory of Kazan.
According to the results of the first stage of the competition, 46
self-employed people became the winners, they have already obtained grant funds
to their accounts and began to use them for achieving their goals.
At the second stage of the competition, 55 applications met all the
conditions and requirements. The winners were 33 entrepreneurs. The maximum
amount of grant support was 100,000 rubles.
“The total amount of grant support in the second stage will be more than 3
million rubles. The total amount of grants in the two stages is almost 7.7
million rubles”, - A.Valiakhmetov noted.
“The amount of 7.7 million rubles that the
self-employed obtained as part of grant support may be small. However, at
personal meetings with entrepreneurs, it was mentioned that for some of them
the issue of saving business, in the literal sense of the word, was estimated
at about 150 thousand rubles. The largest amounts were limited to 200 thousand
rubles,” - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
He emphasized that it is very important to provide
such assistance to the self-employed, as they, in particular, create additional
jobs. “We highly appreciate the desire to enter into a legal dialogue with the
state, - the Mayor said. – We hope that our municipal grants will help to solve
professional issues, and the number of self-employed people will increase.
Already 24 thousand self-employed people are a serious army of active and busy
people. We will support them systematically”.
