Ilsur Metshin opens "Green record" tree-planting season
(Kazan KZN.RU, April 23, by Renat Shirmanov) Today, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin opened the spring tree planting season within the “Green Record" project. The mayor took part in landscaping the yard at 35B Pr.Pobedy, whose residents turned to him for help in improving the area .
“I am very pleased that you came to me with this request. Some people open hunting season this week, but we open the season of tree planting. For us it is very important that you did not just initiate tree planting, but also keep your backyard clean," said the Mayor of Kazan.
FYI, the “Green Record" project, which started in the autumn of 2012, covered 2,656 sites throughout the city, including every third yard. Over half of the new trees are adult, and in 2014, 50 thousand new trees will be planted.
