At the end of last year, a walking area was landscaped on Zarya Street. There
are recreation areas, a football pitch and playgrounds. Benches and swings were
also installed in the park, lighting was installed, paving stones were laid,
and about 200 trees were planted.
More recently, information stands appeared in the park under the shade
of trees, which introduce residents to the large-scale events of Kazan and its noble
people. The stands tell about the 2013 World Summer Universiade, the Echo of
Centuries festival, the hero of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Devyataev and
other famous names and pages of history.
“A new green place for walks and meetings has appeared on the site of an
overgrown area. There are more and more such sites in the city. I am happy that
each area has their own special feature. And every such location is warmly
welcomed by residents. Now it will be possible not only to walk here, but also
to learn more about the history of the city,”- said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of
Kazan.
