In Kazan, the
construction of interchanges, pedestrian underpasses and the reconstruction of
storm sewers is being completed as part of the first stage of the construction
of the Voznesensky Tract from Gvardeyskaya Street to Pobedy Avenue with a
length of 4 km. It is planned to open direct traffic along Gvardeyskaya Street in
September. The progress of work at the intersection of Voznesensky tract and
Gvardeyskaya Street was inspected by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
“About 400
people and 120 vehicles work at the construction site daily. Every day, the
dream of our predecessors is getting closer to realization. Already in
September, it will be possible to replace detours and launch traffic along Gvardeyskaya
Street,”- the head of the city noted.
According to the
project, the first section of the road will be 13-17 meters wide with three
lanes in each direction. Now the construction of the interchange at the
intersection of Voznesensky tract and Gvardeyskaya Street is being completed.
Igor Kulyazhev, deputy head of the Executive Committee, informed the Mayor that
the upper joints are being filled in for the construction of the highway. In
addition, the filling of the upper part of the overpass at the intersection of
the Voznesensky tract with Pobedy Ave. will be completed shortly, after which
the road surfacing will begin.
The roadbed has
already been paved on almost the entire section from Rodina St. to Pobedy Ave. “All
work is carried out according to the schedule,”- said the deputy head of the
Executive Committee. In addition to the work on the roadway, bike paths are
provided on this site, and the width of the sidewalks will be 2.2-4.5 m.
The construction
of a railway overpass and three underground pedestrian crossings at
intersections with A.Kutuya, Rodina and N.Zhiganov Streets is nearing
completion. Thus, the preparedness of the tunnel–type overpass at the
intersection of Voznesensky tract and Gvardeyskaya St. is 80%, at the
intersection of Voznesensky Tract and Pobedy Ave. is 60%, three underground
pedestrian crossings are 70-80%, and the reconstruction of the external storm
sewer network is 90% complete. As I. Kulyazhev noted, the first stage of construction
is planned to be fully completed in 2023.
The construction
is progressing well on the second section of the Voznesensky tract from Pobedy
Ave. to the M7 Volga highway with a length of 8 km. Now preparations are
underway for the construction of two aboveground crossings on Pobedy Ave. near
the new highway and the bridge over the Noksa River, and a temporary bypass
road along Fuchika Street will also open.
According to I.
Kulyazhev, a number of private land plots is located along the construction of
the road. “Now work is underway to repurchase them,”- he said.
“This year we
are not only building the Voznesensky tract, but also expanding the Gorkobsky Highway,
continuing to build the Great Kazan Ring Road. This is not only the issue of transformation
of the city and the reduction of traffic congestions, but also an effective
anti-crisis measure. Thanks to these projects, thousands of Kazan citizens
working in the construction industry receive decent wages and confidence in the
future,”- the Mayor summed up.
Roman
Fatkhutdinov, head of the administration of the Sovetsky district, and
Stanislav Shevyrev, Director of the contracting organization Volga-Avtodor LLC,
also took part in the onsite meeting.
