The Executive
Committee of Kazan granted advertising agencies a one-year deferral on payments
to the city budget for the first quarter. This decision occurred due to the withdrawal
of international companies from the market. The head of the Department of
Outdoor Advertising and Information Askar Bagautdinov reported on measures to
support the advertising business today at the Business Monday meeting.
In April, only
by 30-40% of the outdoor advertising structures were booked in the city. In
order to support the industry, the Executive Committee of Kazan decided to
postpone half of the payment for the first quarter for the next year – from
March 31, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
“Taking into
account the provided support measures, the planned revenues to the city budget
will amount to 398 million rubles. Since the beginning of this year, the budget
has already received 77 million rubles, of which 21 million rubles are deferred
payments for 2020. Previously established payment schedules are being observed,
the debt to the budget has been fully repaid”, – explained the head of the
Department of Outdoor Advertising and Information.
Ilsur Metshin,
the Mayor of Kazan, reminded that the city had incurred a number of costs
during the pandemic. “The measures taken to support the advertising business
were discussed at various sites. The feedback proves that they were effective.
We deliberately did not receive 145 million rubles to the city budget in 2020
and postponed payments to 2021 and 2022”, - he reminded. “The withdrawal of
international companies has messed the advertising market. It is necessary to
keep the situation under control and make decisions together with advertising
operators”, - I.Metshin said.
