A new boiler house launches on Novatorov Street in Kazan

A new block-modular boiler house of Kazenergo has started operating in Kazan on Novatorov Street. It will provide heat to 28 residential buildings, kindergartens, polyclinics of the Sovetsky district of the city. The launch of the facility was monitored by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

The new boiler house replaced the old one, which was built half a century ago and will not be able to provide smooth operation in the upcoming heating season. “The previous boiler house operated for 50 years. The new facility is equipped with modern technologies and advanced equipment. Its efficiency is 96%, which will reliably provide heat to the entire neighborhood, including newly built facilities,”- Ilsur Metshin said.

Twenty-seven facilities are connected to the modular boiler house, including 18 apartment buildings, one kindergarten, two medical institutions and six administrative buildings. One more residential building will be connected shortly. In addition, the boiler house will provide heat to houses under construction.

The boiler room is completely automated and does not require the presence of an operator. All data on the operation of boilers and pumps are automatically transmitted to the control room, which is located on the territory of Kazenergo at 162 Gabdulla Tuqay Street, reported Director General of the company Rustam Abdulkhakov. The installed power requirement of the boiler house is 11.4 MW– which is two megawatts more than that of the previous boiler house.

The boiler house uses some foreign equipment, but the boilers and isolation valves are of domestic production. “We have a stock of components. I am confident that the equipment currently used in the boiler house will work without any breakdowns for at least 10 years,”- Rustam Abdulkhakov said. At the same time, the company is already searching for domestic analogues of foreign equipment.

“In the new conditions, we are working on the selection of similar equipment. In preparation for the upcoming heating season, we will definitely test it and forward the information to our project services. But this is a long and tedious work, because we must be confident in the quality and reliability of these analogues,”- Rustam Abdulkhakov said.

The boiler house on Novatorov Street is the fifth facility built by Kazenergo in the last 5 years. In addition, during the same period, 12 boiler houses were renovated, as well as 27 boilers in boiler houses were replaced, 62.8 km of heating networks were replaced.

This year, the company plans to reconstruct two more boiler houses - on Muzikalnaya Street and Zheleznodorozhnaya Street, additionally modernize 8 boilers in boiler houses, as well as to replace 7.6 km of heating networks.

In total, Kazenergo supply with heat about 25% of Kazan consumers.
