The Danilovskaya Manufactory in Kazan plans to maintain its current
production, despite the economic situation in the country. The company, located
on Yuzhno-Promyshlennaya Street, produces 300 thousand pairs of socks and 157
thousand tights for children every month. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin
discussed the situation of the company under the sanctions with the director of
the manufactory as part of the work of the city anti-crisis headquarters.
Materials for production
are purchased from foreign partners
The Danilovskaya
Manufactory hosiery factory was established in 2018. The company produces a
wide range of products. “Our products are as good as Italian or other European
ones, we can be competitive on the market”, - said Nikita Panchenko, CEO of the
company.
Materials for
sewing hosiery are purchased from foreign partners. “There are no companies in
Russia to grow and process cotton, so we are dependent on supplies from abroad”,
- Nikita Panchenko explained.
In particular,
cotton is delivered from Uzbekistan, recycled cotton is purchased in Turkey, and
synthetic thread for the pattern comes from China. Today, the company is having
trouble with supplies. “The dollar exchange rate has changed, which means that
the price of raw materials and components in rubles has also sharply increased.
We do not have direct contracts, we buy all raw materials through Moscow
distributors at an increased price. Terms of delivery are also increasing”, - Nikita
Panchenko told the Mayor. The price of cotton has doubled.
Nikita Panchenko
asked the Mayor of Kazan to assist in the creation of a working group that
would include all manufacturers of hosiery products of the republic.
RMC - dating
site for small and medium-sized businesses
There are also
difficulties with the supply of components for equipment, in particular
needles. The director of the enterprise said that three needles are used for
one machine every day, 4.5 thousand needles per month. “Needles are worth gold,
we buy them in China through distributors in St. Petersburg, because of
logistics, they are delivered in 3-5 months”, - Nikita Panchenko said.
In addition, the
company is forced to train new employees. “Unfortunately, educational
institutions of the republic do not train knitters to work on hosiery
equipment. I would like such specialists to be trained in Tatarstan”, - Nikita
Panchenko noted.
For reference,
there is a Republican Marketing Center (RMC) in Tatarstan, which is a kind of
aggregator for promoting products of local manufacturers on the market.
Initially, it was created on the initiative of Tatarstan Ministry of Economy on
behalf of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the basis of trade and
information resources of the Agency for state orders of the Republic of
Tatarstan, headed by Yakov Geller.
Manufacturers of
the republic place offers about their products on the RMC’s website, and buyers
indicate their needs, thus, it is assumed that demand will be met through the
sale of local products. “This is a kind of dating site for small and
medium-sized businesses, as well as the industrial enterprises. The site allows
establishing interrupted production chains. Thanks to the resource, work on the
production and supply of raw materials is quickly being established”, - Ilsur
Metshin noted.
