This year, it is
planned to open the first in Russia conductive kindergarten in the Privolzhsky
district of Kazan. Preschool is designed for children aged 3 to 7 years with
disorders of the central nervous system. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin looked
around the future kindergarten.
“Conductive pedagogy changes
the life of the whole family”
The conductive
kindergarten will be located at 25 Garifyanova street with an area of 220 sq.
m. At the end of 2019, the Executive Committee of the city handed over the
facility free of charge to Kazan activist Ilya Shkolnikov. “I am the father of
a special child. All the proposed rehabilitation methods did not suit us, and
then my wife and I opened our own small rehabilitation center, where we invited
specialists to work with disabled children. In particular, a doctor, a
specialist-conductologist from Israel, Ida Igra, suggested to open such a
kindergarten in Kazan,”- Ilya Shkolnikov said.
Ilsur Metshin noted
that promising projects are being implemented in Kazan thanks to activists. “Now,
we are systematically working on the adaptation and development of children with disabilities
with the help of activists like you,”- he said.
Conductive
pedagogy is one of the rehabilitation methods of children, which includes the
restoration of motor, speech and mental functions, meaning a conductologist teach
children to walk, eat and much more.
The preschool is designed for
twenty-four children aged 3 to 7 years
Three groups for
six children each aged 3 to 7 years will open in the kindergarten, gradually
the number of pupils is planned to increase. The maximum capacity of the
educational institution will be 24 children. At first, children will attend preschool
for 4 hours a day, then their stay in kindergarten will be increased to 8-9
hours.
Fourteen specialists-conductologists,
who will be trained by European specialists, will work with the pupils. Ilya
Shkolnikov said that he will personally recruit the staff for the kindergarten
in several stages.
The Mayor of
Kazan supported the activist, noting that it is important to invite good professionals.
I. Metshin
instructed to engage philanthropists to complete all the work and open a
kindergarten this year.
Railings on the walls, and
rugs instead of beds
Currently, the
kindergarten is being renovated. Initially, Ilya Shkolnikov made it on his own
at the expense of philanthropists and caring Kazan residents, now a team of
workers and volunteers are helping him. Finishing works are underway now, tiles
are being laid.
According to
Ilya Shkolnikov, he will partially produce furniture for the kindergarten
himself. “There should be special furniture for children with disorders of the
central nervous system, I have all the necessary drawings for it,” the activist
explained. For example, in the hall, special railings will be installed on the
walls, with the help of which children will learn to move independently. Also, special
chairs, tables and much more will be purchased.
“We will study
the experience of this kindergarten, and we will try to open such preschools in
every district of Kazan,”- I. Metshin emphasized.
