In Kazan, the
digitalization of municipal services allowed reducing the terms of their
provision from 2 to 8 times. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, reported about
the progress of digitalization at the XII session of the Kazan City Duma today.
Deputy of the
Kazan City Duma Ruslan Duzhenkov raised the issue of connecting kindergartens
to high-speed Internet, as it has already been implemented at schools. Ilsur
Metshin replied that this issue will be considered with the Ministry of
Digitalization of Tatarstan and PAO “Tattelecom”. “This is an issue of security,
besides, now many educational programs are connected with the Internet, so we
will discuss this issue with colleagues”, - Ilsur Metshin emphasized.
“Digitalization
is very important at all levels. Kazan is one of the leaders in digitalization
not only in the republic, but also nationwide. We have agreed with Ilsur
Raisovich that in the near future we will consider in detail the results so
that the developments of Kazan can be introduced in the republic. As for
educational institutions, now schools are connected to Internet and Wi-Fi.
Kindergartens are also educational institutions, so we will work on this issue”,
- Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said.
A large-scale
renovation project of the Spartak factory has been launched in Kazan, where the
Digital House will open after reconstruction, which will bring together gifted IT
specialists.
A lot of
systematic work is being done on creation a Smart City. The terms of rendering municipal
services in a number of areas were significantly reduced.
Speaking about
the plans for digitalization, the Mayor of Kazan noted that utilities, building
lines, roads, green zones, borders of water bodies and other data will be
plotted on the city electronic map. This will create a single database of
up-to-date data for specialists from various Executive Committee departments
and reduce the time required to provide services.
“We have started
a major internal restructuring with the focus of the management system to the
needs of people and the use of a human-centered approach”, - said the Mayor of
Kazan.
