To date, 335 vehicles have been prepared for snow cleaning in Kazan, which
will work on the roads with a total length of 1,950 km. “The time to repair the
roof is when the sun is shining, which we did. Winter is always different, but
there will definitely be frosts, heavy snowfalls and ice storms. We will pay
special attention to the sidewalks. So far, we noted that there are fewer
complaints about roads of the first, second and third categories”, - Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said at a meeting dedicated to the readiness of road
services to work in winter mode.
According to the deputy head of the Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev,
the total area of the territory to be cleaned in winter will increase by 400
thousand sq.m and will amount to almost 22 million sq.m.
The municipal fleet consists of 560 harvesters. Two hundred and twenty-one vehicles
are used for the first stage works. Currently, 60% of vehicles are prepared for
work in winter conditions. It is planned to complete the full preparation of
harvesting vehicles by October 15.
The work of vehicles will be monitored by the navigation control system.
This year, it was updated by installing additional sensors on the equipment and
introducing all road routes into the system.
Anti-icing treatment of roads will be carried out with the help of reagents
and a sand-salt mixture.
Snow disposal will be carried out at seven snow-melting units. As I.Kulyazhev
noted, with regular precipitation, this should be enough for the city.
Two hundred and eight vehicles will be involved in the cleaning of yard
territories. According to Iskander Giniyatullin, deputy head of the Kazan
Executive Committee in charge of housing and utilities services, their number
has increased by 45 units in 2 years. In order to carry out the cleaning, the
sidewalks and roads inside the yard must be free of cars.
“On the eve of the winter season, it is necessary to remind residents that
they can help to implement a quality cleaning of their yards. To do this, they
need to gather, vote and come to a common decision”, - the Mayor of Kazan said.
