The first results of parental control of school meals,
which started this year in Kazan, were summed up. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of
Kazan, instructed to continue the project. “In just one quarter, the number of
complaints about the work of school canteens decreased by 35% due to the parental
control. I believe that in the fourth quarter we will be able to manage all the
issues on the organization of school meals”, - the head of the city said today
at the Business Monday.
The Parental Control project began on January 11, from
that day on, parents monitored the organization and quality of meals in every
school canteen in Kazan, said the head of the Department of Education Irek
Rizvanov.
“In three months, school canteens were visited by
almost 7 thousand mothers, fathers, grandparents, who were interested in evaluating
the quality of meals – I.Rizvanov said. –Permanent parental control has proven
to be an effective tool, which allowed reducing the number of complaints that
we received on social networks”.
According to the results of the third quarter, 6,912 comments
were posted in the electronic journal of parental control, of which 97.5% were
positive, said Rima Mukhamedshina, Director of the Department of Food and
Social Nutrition.
“During their visits to canteen, parents were asked to
evaluate the taste qualities of the school menu dishes. In total, we received
134 complaints from parents: in January – 69, in February – 54 and in March –
11”, - director of the department said.
The employees of the catering department conducted 32
unscheduled inspections at schools, where they worked together with the cooks
to improve the technology of cooking.
“Parents are the most interested persons in the issues
of health and healthy nutrition of children. Therefore, we request to make the
project of parental control open-ended and implement it on a regular basis”, -
R.Mukhamedshina said.
I.Metshin, in turn, instructed to develop a plan for
parental control of school meals for the next quarter.
