In Kazan, on the border of the Privolzhsky and Sovetsky regions, the construction of a new ferroconcrete bridge over the Noksa River was completed. The bridge is open in test mode. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin thanked the builders for the fast- paced construction of the new bridge.
The Privolny and Vishnevka residential areas are connected to the city by a single road – it runs along a dam with culverts across the Noksa River. Over the years the dam became dilapidated and was in a critical condition, the culvert almost destroyed. During the flood, about 500 houses in the Salmachi and Vishnevka residential areas were at risk of flooding.
Construction of a 35-meter-long ferroconcrete bridge across the Noksa began this spring. Outdoor lighting networks and sidewalks for pedestrians have been built along the bridge. The reconstruction of the gas and water pipelines has also been completed.
The road part of the work was completed by 80%. The dismantling a section of the existing road with pipes is needed for completion the work, as well as laying the top coat on the approaches to the bridge to complete work on a section of sidewalk in front of the axle, construction of the exit road to Zhemchuzhnaya street and completion of the site reclamation. One hundred forty trees have already been planted on the slopes.
The Mayor of Kazan noted that the construction of the bridge is not only a solution to the problem of flood, but also the construction of new roads. “The flood is just one issue. There was an inconvenient zigzag, but in Privolny, Salmachi, Vishnevka there about 20 thousand houses. We were able to straighten and expand the road to provide residents with transport accessibility. Of course, I am glad that all the work was completed quickly, in just six months“, - Ilsur Metshin said.
