Ilsur Metshin: “We have renovated 66 school canteens and will definitely continue this work”
In preparation for the new school year, the work on renovation and equipment of school canteens continued in Kazan. As the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin noted at the Business Monday, work on renovation of the school canteens will continue in the future.
“Out of 166 canteens, we have overhauled 66. Of course, there are some canteens that need to be renovated, but we managed to solve the most challenging cases”, - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
By this school year, the Department managed to purchase technological and refrigeration equipment for 76 schools for 16 million rubles, said Rima Mukhamedshina, Director General of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition. In addition, 550 items of inventory and equipment totaling 5.2 million rubles were allocated to 80 Kazan schools as part of the WorldSkills 2019 legacy. 9.3 million rubles were allocated for the purchase of dishes for the canteens.
In addition, due to the epidemiological situation, 143 additional anti-bacterial lamps, detergents, household goods were purchased for schools for 3.4 million rubles.
“At the same time, work was underway to prepare the structural divisions of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition: we increased and insulated the zones for unloading and loading products, purchased five additional vehicles, as well a new water filtration station was installed”, - R.Mukhamedshina said.
“Special thanks to the Department for this work. You have taken on an additional credit obligations to renovate and equip canteens, and are coping with it – the Mayor added. -Despite all the challenges, thanks to joint efforts, the task of organizing school meals set at the beginning of the school year has been solved”.
