Today, the coordination council for support of small
and medium-sized businesses took place in Kazan via videoconference headed by
the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin.
About 80 Kazan entrepreneurs took part in the meeting,
and about 90 people watched the broadcast of the meeting and asked their
questions on the YouTube video hosting site.
Farid Abdulganiev, Commissioner for the protection of
entrepreneurs ' rights, aide to Tatarstan President, heads of structural
divisions of the Executive Committee, district administrations and others also
joined the conversation.
“I would like to hear an assessment of the situation
from different business representatives”, - said I.Metshin when opening the
meeting. The head of the city reminded that today almost 84 thousand small and
medium-sized businesses and about 30 thousand self-employed people work in
Kazan. In total, about 240 thousand Kazan citizens are employed in small and
medium-sized businesses.
The Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan emphasized that
the year was tough for everyone. “For more than 20 years of work in different
municipal authorities we’ve faced various crises. But, the fact that we have a
set of challenges caused by the pandemic is something the world has never seen
before. Therefore, from the first days of mass restrictions, we tried to adopt
a package of measures to support entrepreneurs. I am sure that you know about them
and have felt this support”, - said I.Metshin.
Tatarstan has become one of the first regions to adopt
business support programs and various anti-crisis measures, said Farid
Abdulganiev, Commissioner for the protection of entrepreneurs ' rights, aide to
Tatarstan President. “For example, let me remind you that next year it is
planned to extend the experience of Kazan in grant support for the
self-employed to the entire republic,”- the speaker said.
The concerns of entrepreneurs addressed to the head of
the city touched on various areas of business development. All of them will
soon be reflected in the work, the Mayor said. Therefore, in particular, the
head of the city instructed to work out the issue of converting the “Hiton”
enterprise in Derbyshki into an industrial platform for business development,
following the example of the “Himgrad”.
Also during the meeting with entrepreneurs, the head
of the city announced the extension of grant support for the self-employed,
providing them with new facilities with modern equipment based on specialized
competence centers, and a moratorium on fines for violations of land
improvement rules in the next six months. The meeting participants also
considered a number of other concerns that will allow entrepreneurs to enhance
the development of their business.
In conclusion, the Mayor thanked all entrepreneurs for
their activity, constructive criticism and suggestions for improving the
business climate.
The head of the city added that meetings with
entrepreneurs to be continued as new issues for discussion are accumulated.
