By the end of
the year, Kazan will host a number of major sporting events, including the
Russian Championships in synchronized swimming, taekwondo, kuresh,
International Belt Wrestling Championships, and the Russian Figure Skating Cup.
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin noted at the Business Monday at the Executive
Committee that the capital of Tatarstan has a rich experience of holding major
sporting events, and the developed infrastructure for this purpose.
“We have made a considerable job to ensure that Kazan
has a sports infrastructure for hosting premiere events. Everything matters:
the Universiade and the World Championships, - said I.Metshin. – Our colleagues
from International and Russian federations, from the Ministry of sports are well
aware that Kazan is rich with not only sports infrastructure, but also with
experience in organizing and hosting international events with the appropriate
implementation of all requirements, including security. This is very important.
Therefore, even at this time, our city schedules hosting various competitions”.
From October 31 to November 5, the Aquatics Palace
hosts the President's Diving Cup. And from November 25 to 27, the Russian Synchronized
Swimming Championships will be held here.
From November 8 to 12, the Sports Palace will host the
fourth stage of the Russian Figure Skating Cup.
By the end of the year, Kazan will host a number of
major competitions: International Belt Wrestling Championships, the WTF
Taekwondo Championships and the Russian Kuresh Championships.
A number of major competitions, including
international, are also planned to be held in Kazan next year. The CIS Countries
Games were postponed to 2021 due to the epidemiological situation. The Special
Olympics World Winter Games are scheduled for 2022.
“In total, in the next 5 years, it has already been
confirmed that Kazan will host European Championships in 7 sports and nine World
Championships”, - Albert Salikhov concluded.
