Today, the August meeting of Tatarstan education and
science workers took place at the Adymnar-Alabuga multilingual educational
complex in Yelabuga headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin also attended the
meeting.
The development of the education system is one of the
priorities in Tatarstan, R. Minnikhanov said, opening the meeting. He noted
that the industry was one of the first to face the challenges of the
coronavirus pandemic.
A switch to the online learning has revealed a number
of technical problems, R.Minnikhanov added. “It is impossible to provide a
full-fledged online education without stable Internet access, - he said. - Of course,
we made our best together with schools and the relevant Ministry. We saw our
weaknesses. This year, we will actively solve the issue of providing high-speed
Internet access for all schools”.
In Tatarstan, the new school year is planned to begin in
face-to-face, traditional format.
This year, Tatarstan participates in the
implementation of six federal programs and several national projects that
affect the development of education. Among such national projects are
Demography, Education and Science, Rafis Burganov, Tatarstan Minister of
education and science, reminded.
Over the past 10 years, 62 education facilities have
been built with a total capacity of more than 28 thousand places, and 12 more
schools are being built this year, the speaker added.
One of the crucial tasks of this year was the creation
of educational multilingual complexes, one of which - Adymnar-Alabuga- became
the site for the August meeting.
In Kazan, the Adymnar – path to knowledge and harmony complex
will open its doors on September 1.
It is important to create conditions for the
development of students’ talents, increase the competitiveness of schools and universities
graduates and pay attention to their ability to meet the current challenges,
said Rustam Minnikhanov. He noted that this year, the results of the Unified
state exam in the republic is again above the national average, the average grade
increased, as well as the number of top students on a variety of subjects.
“At the same time, the average grades in mathematics,
chemistry, computer science, biology, English and German has decreased. Issues
of equalizing the quality of education are being solved slowly”,
– R.Minnikhanov complained.
It is important to think about employment of graduates
of universities and colleges, Tatarstan President added. “This year, more than
55 thousand people have graduated from higher and professional educational
institutions. It is necessary to give them the opportunity to implement their
skills”, - he said, and instructed to arrange for close cooperation in this
direction Tatarstan Ministry of education, Ministry of labour,
It is also important to control the state of material
and technical equipment in educational facilities, Tatarstan President noted. “Over
the past 6 years, 1,614 educational facilities have been renovated in the republic
totaling approximately 26 billion rubles. The state of their equipment should
be under the close attention of the heads of districts and cities – he said. -
We strive to do everything possible to make Tatarstan a republic of
opportunities, and we are grateful to our teachers for their contribution to
the future of the republic”.
