Day of physical education in Kazan: football tournament, yoga, stretching and breakdancing
On August 8, the All-Russian day of physical culture will be held in Gorky Park and at the Trudovue rezervy stadium in Kazan. Albert Salikhov, the Chairman of the Committee of physical culture and sports, told about the sports festival at the Business Monday meeting.
The festival will begin at 10.00 am with morning warm-up with the participation of republican official, State Duma deputies, official of Tatarstan Ministry of sports and Kazan Executive Committee.
At 11.00 am, a football tournament will be held between the teams of the Executive Committee, the Ministry of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, teams of journalists, medical workers and football referees.
At the same time, in the central part of the park, coaches of Green Fitness will hold master classes in Zumba, yoga and stretching. There will also be a breakdancing performance.
Albert Salikhov, Chairman of the Committee of physical culture and sport, emphasized that the event will be held in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
A healthy lifestyle is one of the main priorities for the development of modern society, I. Metshin noted. “When we wrote the United Russia party program providing for the five-year health plan, we doubted that citizens involvement in sports would be high. At that time only 18% of the Kazan citizens were constantly engaged in sports, and now - 50%. We set the next bar high – in 5 years, 60% of citizens should be engaged in sports”, - the Mayor of Kazan said.
