Ilsur Metshin visited the renovated school № 137

This year, landscaping works will be carried out at five schools in Kazan . Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the progress of work near school №137 in the Kirovsky district of the city.

The school, located at Okolnaya street 9, was built in 1965. In 2012, the school underwent an overhaul. Last year, the school was included into the program of modernization of school canteens.

Now it is the turn of landscaping the school grounds.

Landscaping works started here in early April, immediately after the students has been switched to a distance learning. In two months, the sidewalk paths and a pedestrian zone were renovated on site. The work is currently being completed.

Sergei Mironov, head of the administration of Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, noted that the territory will also be accessible to local residents. “We have created a public space for residents of the entire neighborhood”, - added Elza Ivanova, the principal.

“There is a huge difference between before and after! I remember what this school used to look like. Then there was an overhaul, the hall and canteen were repaired, and now it is the turn of landscaping. This is very important. This is a completely different environment for children and parents, considering that schools have always been the center of active life. In addition to the education, there is also a big teaching process. We hope that a worthy generation of Kazan citizens will grow up here with your talented teachers”, - the head of the city Ilsur Metshin summed up.
