Ilsur Metshin: "We must develop the year-round camps"

This year, a large-scale program of youth camps overhaul was launched in Kazan. It is important not only to improve their infrastructure, but also to create conditions for the year-round operation, said the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin today at a Business Monday meeting.

Ilsur Metshin noted that the Republican program not only improves the conditions of children's stay in summer camps, but also increases the capacity. "Children should rest in the decent conditions. I am glad that the presidential program for the camps overhaul is working successfully, it has no rival in other regions of the country. Four renovated camps will increase overall capacity for 1000 children" I. Metshin said.

After the reconstruction, "Molodezhny" camp will operate year-round. All the engineering systems in the camp were replaced, heating supply was provided in all the buildings, all three buildings were renovated and a club was built. By the end of this year, it is necessary to create two athletic fields.

Year-round camps can host major events of the Russian and international level, the mayor said. "These accommodation facilities are quite affordable. It is necessary to make the infrastructure operate all year round: three months camps will serve for children’s rest, another 9 months they can provide commercial services, " I. Metshin said.

According to the mayor, year-round camps could also be a great place for families. "We need to create conditions for Kazan citizens of different ages, different budget opportunities to spend weekends there with children," the mayor said.
