Ilsur Metshin met with Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan Zhanbolat Murzalin at the Kazan City Hall today. Cooperation issues were discussed at the meeting. The meeting was attended by the first deputy head of Kazan municipality Mrs. Evgeniya Lodvigova.
Zhanbolat Murzalin was appointed as a Consul General of Kazakhstan in Kazan on July 2019. Previously, he was an adviser to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia. Zhanbolat Murzalin said that he as a historian by education is interested in Kazan, during his stay in the capital of Tatarstan, he also visited the ancient town of Bolgar.
The Consul General focused the fact that the life of the city is full of different events. So, in August Kazan hosted the 45th WorldSkills championship on professional skills, on September 8 the elections of deputies of the RT state Council were held.
Kazan and Nur-Sultan are twin cities, and as the Consul General noted, they have traditional warm relations. "This is a case when not only twin cities, but also good relations have developed among regions, countries and their leaders, and business community communicates actively," said Ilsur Metshin, mayor of Kazan.
After that, the participants of the meeting discussed cooperation between Kazan and Kazakhstan. It should be noted that Kazakh delegations regularly visit the capital of Tatarstan for exchanging of experience in various fields, in particular, in the housing sector. The capital of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan also cooperate closely in tourism – for the bilateral development of tourist flow. In 2017, more than 7.9 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan visited Kazan, in 2018 their number reached more than 11.6 thousand people.
