I. Metshin: “Kazan is developing in a polycentric way, not only the center changes, but also remote areas”

(KZN.RU, December 25, Ksenia Shvetsova). The outgoing year showed that the improvement of infrastructure affects not only the center of Kazan. Regular works are carried out in all remote areas and districts of the city. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, stated this during the program “Theme” on the TV channel “Efir”.

Important changes have taken place in every district of Kazan this year, from the repair of roads to the reconstruction of social institutions and the renovation of parks and squares. “The city is developing in a polycentric way. That is, everything is done not just in the center, but in the remote areas, in the suburbs, in the settlements. And this is very important, we create conditions so that people living in the capital feel comfortable regardless of the area they live in”, said I. Metshin and gave specific examples of changes affecting all areas of the city. For residents of the Privolzhsky district, a landmark event was the opening of the new metro station Dubravnaya. In addition, work continued on the reconstruction of the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. One of the most anticipated events for the district was the opening of four-lane traffic on the reconstructed street Bratiev Battalovykh.

The construction was completed on the pedestrian promenade in Azino, which starts from Fuchik Street and ends on Pobedy Prospect, said I. Metshin. In Vakhitovsky district, Magistralnaya Street was reconstructed, which had not been thoroughly repaired for 20 years.

The opening of the renovated square “Komsomolets” and the completion of the first stage of the reconstruction of the Kaban Lake embankment, as well as the completion of the first stage of the reconstruction of the Square on Absalyamov Street,  were important events for Kazan citizens.

In addition, the Mayor reminded that the embankment of the NCC “Kazan” has been reconstructed and the city’s largest parking for 1200 places has been built with the help of the “TAIF”. Next year, it is planned to build a children's amusement park in this area.

“As for the Aviastroitelny district, one of the most important milestones was the signing of a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense for the modernization and construction of ten TU-160, our missile carriers. This is a guarantee of jobs, taxes, confidence in the future of the Aviastroitelny district’s residents”, noted the Mayor. He added that one of the most significant events for residents of the Kirovsky district was the positive changes in the residential complex “Salavat Kupere”. A developed social infrastructure appeared in there, a long-awaited school with two swimming pools, sports and concert halls have been opened.

By the anniversary of Yudino this year, 24 streets, 19 yards, and a housing stock were repaired. The reconstruction of the historical heritage monument will be completed by May 9. In addition, a culture center was repaired in the settlement, new sports facilities have been built.

The Mayor also added that the level of culture and sports life is rising in every district. “Of course, we have the Opera House, the Philharmonia and the Conservatory in the only copy. But everything else should be at the place of residence. And thanks to the support of our President and those unique republican programs, we are systemically creating such conditions today”, said the Mayor.
