“Kazan Mayor’s Cup 2017” started in the capital of Tatarstan. 8 cyber-sportsmen,
representing Russian and European football clubs, entered the fight for the
Kazan Mayor's Cup in the cultural and entertainment complex “Pyramid”.

Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan and the president of the football club “Rubin”,
opened the tournament. “We are opening a new page in the life of our Russian
football”, the Mayor addressed the participants and fans. He noted that a huge number
of not only children but also adults around the world are playing football on a
game console, and they are all united by a love for football. “We all also
played table football when we were kids. Technologies are moving forward, and
this tournament is not new but the well forgotten old”, I. Metshin addressed
the fans. The head of the city also expressed the hope that the competitions
will become traditional and noted that the first cyber-tournament of the world
in Kazan will be held in 2018 among the teams participating in the World Cup.
The head of the city noted that the love of football unites all those present.
“Let the strongest win. I wish success to all participants in the first Mayor’s
Cup”, I. Metshin said to cyber-sportsmen.

cyber-football players divided into 2 groups “Russia” and “Europe” will compete
for the Mayor's Cup of the capital of Tatarstan. Anton Zhukov, the
representative of the Kazan “Rubin”, Andrei Guriev, the winner of the first
championship of the Premier League from CSKA, Robert Fakhretdinov, the silver
medalist of the tournament from Ufa, Kirill Ordinartsev, the bronze medalist,
representative of Orenburg, made the Russia team. Representatives of such teams
as the English “Manchester City”, the Dutch “Ayaks”, the Spanish “Valencia” and
the Italian “Roma” entered the team “Europe”.
Also, the
meeting of heads of football clubs of the Russian Football Premier League
(RFPL) took place within the framework of the event. I. Metshin, Sergei
Pryadkin, the president of the organization, Nail Izmailov, the head of the FC
“Spartak” (Moscow), Ilya Gerkus, the president of the FC “Lokomotiv” (Moscow),
Said Abdulaev, the general director of the FC “Anzhi” (Makhachkala), and others
took part in the roundtable.
As part of
the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of creating a Russian league
on cyber-football. I. Metshin noted that the organization of such championships
will increase interest in football and attract fans to the stadiums. The
parties discussed possible variants of holding tournaments, manning teams and
other organizational issues during the roundtable.
