The Mayor of Kazan inspects the renovation of the library on Pobezhimova Street

A branch of library № 25 has opened on Pobezhimova Street in the Aviastroitelny city district. The renovation was carried out under the “Family” national project. A semi‑dilapidated facility has transformed into a modern multi-purpose recreational center with spacious reading rooms and spaces for activities. Now, the library offers unique books on aircraft construction and the development of aviation.

Ilsur Metshin inspected the renovated library before the opening.

“If we don’t promote a love of reading and revive such libraries by carrying out renovations, we won’t see new readers. Fortunately, no device can replace the rustle of book pages, which is why such facilities are vital. The library is located in a historic place. I hope that grandchildren of our aircraft constructors will come here. They will study the history of their hometown and the enterprises, and get acquainted with the classics of Tatar, Russian, and world literature. Excellent conditions have been created here for readers,” – said Ilsur Metshin.

The library is located on the ground floor of a residential building. The building was in poor condition for a long time and required renovation.

The renovation began in 2025 – the old ceilings and floors were replaced, the engineering infrastructure was renovated, including the fire and security alarm systems. The entrance area was equipped with a ramp, and inside, a barrier‑free space with an adapted bathroom was created.

The library was equipped with multimedia equipment. Now there is a reception area, workstations, and shelves with lighting.

The library has two reading rooms: a large one for adults and a children’s room for readers under six years old. “Children who cannot yet read immerse themselves in the world of books through play. First, they take books with pictures; then with letters and texts. This is how we gradually open up a fairy‑tale world for the children,” – said Rezeda Ismagilova, director of the Kazan Centralized Library System.
