The international championship on cyber-football for the prizes of the Mayor of Kazan will be held in the “Pyramid”

(KZN.RU, March 29). The first International Cyber-Football Championship “Kazan Mayor Cup 2017” will be held on April 2 in Kazan in the cultural and recreational complex “Pyramid”. Two big teams will compete for the cup of Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the Tatarstan’s capital and the president of the football club “Rubin”.

Cyber-football players will start competitions in two groups: “Russia” and “Europe”. Four participants of the tournament, who will represent the team of “Europe”, have already been determined. They will be cyber-sportsmen representing such European football grands as the English “Manchester City”, the Spanish “Valencia”, the Dutch “Ajax”, and the Italian “Roma”. Representatives of the Russian team will be winners of “ROSGOSSTRAKH Championship of the RFPL on cyber football”, as well as Anton Zhukov, a player of the football club “Rubin”. The names of three more participants of the “Kazan Mayor Cup 2017” will be announced on April 1 on the day of the completion of the Premier League championship in cyber football. Thus, the prize-winners of the Premier League championship will be included in the fight for the cup.

“We are thinking about improving the attendance of Russian stadiums, considering the possibility of attracting fans of cyber-football. The gaming industry is really huge: hundreds of millions of people play the FIFA football simulator all over the world”, Ilsur Metshin shared his opinion about the cyber-tournament. “By conducting these competitions in Kazan, we solve several problems at once. First, Kazan will attract the attention of many e-sports fans around the world, inviting players of European football grants. Secondly, we will be able to remind young people who are fans of the FIFA that cyber-football will not be divided from ordinary football: the roar of tribunes, the lights of searchlights falling on the field, and that wave of excitement that can only be received at the stadium”, summed up the Mayor.

In addition to the show program, the viewers of the Cup will see the performance of the musician ST (Alexander Stepanov). The author of the official soundtrack of the Russian version of the FIFA 2017 will please the guests and participants before the final matches.

Competitions will be held in the cultural and recreational complex “Pyramid”. The entrance to the tournament will be free. To become the witness of the first international cyber-football cup for Kazan, it is necessary to pass preliminary registration on the event portal, said organizers.

Tournament schedule:

12.00 – the ceremonial opening;

12.30 - 17.00 – the group stage;

17.30 - 18.00 – the match for the 7-8 places;

18.15 - 18.45 – the match for the 5-6 places;

19.00 - 19.30 – the match for the 3-4 places;

20.30 – the final until two wins;

22.00 – the awarding and the ceremonial closing of the Mayor’s Cup.
