The monitoring the quality of drinking water is enhanced in Kazan on the eve of the spring flood

(KZN.RU, February 27, Anton Nozdrin). The laboratory quality control of drinking water, supplied to the city, is strengthened in Kazan. Almir Kurbanov, the deputy chairman of the Housing Committee, reported to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, about the readiness of municipal utilities to the spring flood on the Business Monday.

The deputy chairman of the Housing Committee said that the management companies and housing organizations have prepared the required number of pump-out equipment, “sleeves” for pumping, sandbags and gravel traps, and the necessary supply of inputs and fuel is created.

Experts of the MUE “Vodokanal” ensure constant availability of water intakes, water treatment plants, pumping stations to work during the flood. The results of the diving survey of underwater parts of hydraulic structures and culverts have confirmed their readiness for the flood. A. Kurbanov reported that the list of 88 apartment buildings, which are home to about 14 thousand people, was compiled on the basis of inspection of potentially dangerous areas of possible flooding. “The Management Company was instructed to continue snow removal from the places of possible flooding, to ensure passage of melt water and pumping it to the adjoining areas in available sewers”, said the deputy chairman of the committee.

A. Kurbanov said that the organizations, responsible for cleaning yards, are prohibited from opening sewers for dumping meltwater without permission. This is important, for example, for the part of the city, which is beyond the river, taking into account the overload of the SPS “Verhnyaya”. “All measures have been taken for the unimpeded access of residents in houses, and special ladders will be installed in areas of flooding if necessary”, said the speaker.
