66.9 million passengers used the services of the Kazan electric transport in 2016

(KZN.RU, January 21, Alsu Safina). The Kazan urban electric transport transported 66.9 million passengers in 2016, which is a 26.5% of the total traffic. Asfan Galyavov, the general director of the MUE “Metroelektrotrans”, told about the results of last year and plans for 2017 at the Business Monday.

“The leader in terms of passenger traffic of the city is the subway, which transported 27.8 million passengers in the past year. Trolleybuses have transported 20.9 million passengers, trams - 18.2 million passengers”, said Asfan Galyavov.

The special emergency team is organized to ensure the regularity, timely pathways repair and the current content of the longest tram route number 5.

The head of the MUE “Metroelektrotrans” also drew attention to the fact that you can pay the fare with bank cards at all stations of the city’s subway since May. This project is implemented within the framework of the agreement “Cashless Tatarstan”. Also ticket vending was installed in all subway stations.

The important direction of the company is an active involvement in the renewal and reconstruction of the city's transport network. According to A. Galyavov, 1.5 km tram lines on Aidarov Street was renovated last year, 2.8 km of cable systems in the area from street Leningrad to street Donetskaya, 4.9 km trolley catenary through the streets Devyataev, Tatarstan, Pushkin. Also, the construction of the subway station “Dubravnaya” was performed in 2015-2016: work on the removal of utilities of the construction zone, welding travel rail for laying the permanent way of the station.

For the third year in a row the MUE “Metroelektrotrans” is the general contractor performing the work under the program “Accessible Environment”, adapting social facilities for people with limited mobility. In 2016, such work was carried out at 46 sites, and 528 municipal facilities have been adapted during the implementation of the program.

Along with the work on citizens’ benefit, the company is trying to meet the needs of their employees. Their wages rise regularly, and in 2016 it amounted to 28 435 thousand rubles. In addition, there are monthly promotions along with the traditional social benefits. A. Galyavov said that the company was able to offer the unemployed not only work, but also accommodation in the hostel from the federal program for providing citizens of the move, looking for work. About 300 people benefited from the program since 2013.
