(KZN.RU, December 29, Mikhail Chentsov). The ice town was opened in Kazan near the Puppet Theater “Ekiyat”. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the city, congratulated on the long-awaited launch of the beloved by all the citizens the winter recreational site and New Year.

“Quite a bit of time left before the New Year will come. All of us - adults and children, grandparents, moms and dads - are waiting for the New Year and always hope for a little miracle. I want to thank you, dear citizens of Kazan, for we are all work together a lot in 2016, and did everything to make our city, our republic and our country become even better. I wish each of you good health in the New Year, and so to your relatives and friends, and to the most cherished dreams come true”, said the Mayor.

The summing up of the results of the city contest-festival “People’s Ded Moroz” was held at the opening of the ice town. The winner was the Ded Moroz from the team “Tsypa”, who was lucky enough not only to win 100 thousand rubles, but also to win the people's love. Citizens actively supported and echoed Ded Morozes during the collective performances of all participants in the festive scene.

The entertainment program was traditionally organized for visitors of the ice town: you can roll on a slide, designed for adults and children, admire ice sculptures, made on the basis of national fairy tales. The friendly animators-snowmen, which were ready to open up their arms for each citizen, today welcomed visitors at the entrance to the town, lit with bright colors. It was possible to warm up on a cold evening at the hot food on the territory of the town.

The opening ceremony ended with the lighting of the town Christmas tree, the countdown of which was led by newly “People’s Ded Moroz”. A surprise was waiting for all citizens - fireworks.

The ice town is open to visitors daily from 9.00 to 23.00. You can read the full rules of visiting the town on special stands, which are highlighted, as well as the town walls.

Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee of improvements, Ivan Kuznetsov, the deputy head of the Economic Development of the Executive Committee, Andrei Lobov, the head of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts administration, Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, and others also attended the event.
