December 19). 96 thousand tons of snow was removed from Kazan roads since the
beginning of the winter season, 12 thousand tons of which - over the past
weekend. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the
chairman of the Committee of improvements, said this today at the Business
Monday in the Kazan City Hall.
According
to him, 25 mm of precipitation fell in the capital of Tatarstan since the
beginning of December, which is 66% of normal. “The work of road services
organized around the clock, the treatment of roads and sidewalks with
anti-icing material were performed during worsening of weather conditions”,
reported I. Kulyazhev. He added that on average 490 unit of equipment went to
cleaning for a week, and 34 thousand tons of anti-icing material was spent from
the beginning of the winter period.
“The work
of snow removal, cleaning sidewalks, bus stops, local and intra driveways, as
well as roads in the villages is ongoing”, said I. Kulyazhev.
“No need to
remind that the proper maintenance of roads, sidewalks, bus stops, entrances to
the subway, pedestrian crossings, as well as the housing stock is the number
one issue in the winter”, marked Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. He
instructed to keep the issue of winter cleaning on tight control.
