Winners of the “Blooming Kazan” project was awarded in the City Hall

(KZN.RU, October 11). Active participants and winners of the “Blooming Kazan” and ‘Flower Festival” were honored today at the City Hall. Welcoming the present in the hall, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said that participation in the improvement of the capital of the RT for businesses and residents is one of the clearest ways to show love for their native city.

As I. Metshin reminded, the idea of ​​the “Blooming Kazan” project appeared during the preparation for the Universiade-2013. “We thought, what else can be done for the residents and guests of the capital, and that's when we decided to plant more flowers. At that time there were 3.5 million, and now we have grown to 6.5 million flowers. I believe that this number will grow every year”, assured the Mayor. It should be noted that the total area of ​​flower beds in the capital of Tatarstan was 49 thousand square meters, according to the results of the project “Blooming Kazan” in 2016.

According to Ilsur Metshin, it is important that people take the most active part in the improvement of the city. “Today we went to a few objects, inspected the Parin square, where people began to landscape their own territory near the public garden, plant flowers and front gardens. It is well forgotten old. It’s good that it comes back”, the Mayor marked.

Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of Kazan Committee of improvements, told that the competition among the city's residents and businesses on the flower decoration is traditionally held in the framework of the project “Blooming Kazan”. The competition was held in seven nominations: “The best design of the façade”, “The best design of the yard territory’, “The best design of the adjacent territory”, “The most original floral arrangement”, “The best design of territory adjacent to the educational institution”, “The most flourishing region” and “The best floral frame”. Participants had to create a beautiful floral arrangement and capture it in a photo. 284 compositions in total have been exposed (professionally and amateur designed).

The Novo-Savinovsky district became winner in the nomination “The most flourishing region”, and Svetlana Lola, a resident of Kazan, won the prize for the most successful frame. The winners of the “Blooming Kazan” nominations were the following organizations: the kindergarten of combined type №82 in the Kirovsky district of Kazan, the “Management Company of Housing and communal services of the Moscow district”, the AO “Zavod Elecon”, the “Management company Center-MK” and the MUP “Metroelektrotrans”. In addition to awarding the winners, a number of organizations have received gratitude letters of the Mayor for the active participation: the MUP trust “Gorvodzelenhoz” for the composition “Flower of the fairy tale”, MUP “Urban landscaping” for the composition “Flower palette” and others.

I. Kulyazhev reminded that the “Flower Festival” was held for the second year in a row in the framework of the “Blooming Kazan”. This year the number of participants has grown almost in 2 times up to 24 professional teams from Moscow, Samara, Laishevsky and Tyulyachinsky regions of Tatarstan. Festival participants could realize his vision of modern landscape architecture from June to mid-September on the ground in front of the Puppet Theater “Ekiyat”. More than 500 thousand people visited this year's “Flower Festival”, which is two times more than in 2015.

The shelter “Ely-Paly” became the winner of the “Flower Festival” with the composition “Towards a fairy tale” and received a gratitude letter of the Mayor and a cash prize.

Ilsur Metshin thanked all the participants and winners of the project and noted that the development of the festival and competition depends on the activity of the people and leaders of organizations. “I want to tell you my sincere gratitude on behalf of the residents, for which you make Kazan even more beautiful”, said the head of the city.
