October 11, Alsu Safina). 11-year-old Jeyhun Ahmadov, who has long dreamed of
becoming a Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan, today visited the Mayor's chair
in the Kazan City Hall. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Tatarstan's capital, which
met with Jeyhun, his father and sister, helped him fulfill the dream.
Schoolboy
with great pleasure accepted the invitation of the Mayor to take a picture at
his office desk and hold in his hands the insignia of the Kazan’s Mayor.
Jeyhun’s
dream is fulfilled thanks to the project “Dream with me”, which was created by
the social movement “Our Business” in 2014. The charitable project helps to
realize dreams of children with life-threatening diseases. According to
Svetlana Salmina, the head of the project “Dream with me’, more than 20
children have become participants of the project in two years. “Every dream is
unique”, she said.
Doctors
diagnosed the Burkitt's lymphoma to Jeyhun Ahmedov. The boy lives with his
parents and two sisters in Nizhnekamsk. “I want to solve a serious problem, go
with a diplomat and to be the Mayor of the city”, he told the organizers of the
project.
Ilsur
Metshin immediately responded to the appeal of the fund, and the boy's dream to
feel himself as the Mayor of Kazan had come true.
During the
conversation it became clear that the Mayor of Kazan and Jeyhun share a love
for math, social studies, history and sports. Jeyhun told Ilsur Metshin that he
plays football, hockey and chess and he swims,. The Mayor of Kazan endorsed
boy’s hobbies, noting that chess develops the analytical skills and hockey
gives an opportunity to show a leadership by supporting the team in difficult
moments. Ilsur Metshin, as the President of the football club, presented Jeyhun
a “Rubin” shirt and a “Rubin Diary”, where he can discover the history of the
Football Club and its players. The “Diary of good deeds” was another gift. All first
graders of Kazan got it this year on September 1. “Your parents will paste
stickers in the diary when you will do good deeds”, said Ilsur Metshin.
He also
asked a guest about what, in his opinion, is necessary to become a Mayor. The
boy answered confidently that it is intelligence and the ability to assign
tasks. As well as a good studying, added the Mayor of Kazan. “Education is what
you are in charge now, and you must treat it appropriately”, said Ilsur
Metshin. The Mayor of Kazan drew guest’s attention to the fact that it is
important to be a leader in the classroom and motivate classmates to do good
deeds. It is possible, according to the Mayor, to show leadership abilities,
for example, during the collection of waste paper or cleaning.
Jeyhun went
out of the Mayor’s chair to the stadium “Kazan Arena”, where he took part in
the game meeting with the participation of sports marketing agency “Sellout
Sport System” experts. In addition, Jeyhun have had a personal lesson on
leadership within the “Day of the Leader”, which was prepared for him by the
training center “TeamSoft”.
