(KZN.RU,
October 10, Mikhail Chentsov). 233 thousand people, including 50,737 children,
were vaccinated against influenza in Kazan for today. Ilnur Halfiev, the head
of the Health Department on Kazan of the Ministry of Health of the RT, said
this today at the Business Monday.
He noted
that it is planned to instill free 123,290 children and 375,880 adults in the
capital of Tatarstan this year, which is for 50% of children and 40% of the
adult population of Kazan respectively.
According
to the national immunization schedule, the major groups of the population will
be vaccinated: children from 6 months to 18 years old, medical workers,
employees of educational institutions, students, persons over 60, persons
subject to military conscription, pregnant women, and citizens with chronic
diseases in remission. In addition, the transport workers, municipal sphere,
the sphere of housing and communal services, law enforcement agencies, those
who are at high risk of adverse effects of the disease will be vaccinated.
“Less than 300 thousand people have been vaccinated in the last campaign, more
than half a million people will be vaccinated this year”, stressed I. Halfiev.
The speaker
also noted that the immunity, acquired through vaccination, protects against
disease. The post-vaccination complications are extremely rare. Severe adverse
reactions to the vaccine are no more than one case per million of the
vaccinated.
I. Halfiev
also said that there is a non-specific prevention along with vaccination, which
involves strengthening the immune system. Traditional folk medicine remedies are
used for this purpose: lemon, briar, cranberry, sea buckthorn, honey, garlic,
and for an inhalation: mint and other herbs.
“Onion,
honey, garlic, dousing, healthy lifestyle, sport - this is held in the trend
every year. I am glad that the number of practicing sports in Kazan is growing,
but, nevertheless, vaccination is what anyone can currently use. Especially
since the number of free vaccines is great - more than half a million, and it
should be definitely used”, summed up Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
