will be fully updated until the end of the year. Today Rustam Minnikhanov, the
President of Tatarstan, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the
new trolleybuses and trams, which have already supplied in Kazan.

trolleybuses of model “Trolza 5275.03” (Engels) and 22 single-section tram cars
of model “71-623-02’ (Ust-Katav) were purchased for the capital of Tatarstan
this year. According to Asfan Galyavov, the general director of the MUP
“Metroelektrotrans”, a new electric transport will operate on all routes, and
very soon none of the old tram or trolleybus will remain in Kazan.
The MUP
“Metroelektrotrans” signed contracts for the supply of 30 trolleybuses and 12
single-section trams in July-August with the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the
President of Tatarstan. 4 trolleybuses and 6 trams arrived in Kazan today. In
addition, 40 trolleybuses and 10 trams have been purchased since the beginning
of the year. According to Asfan Galyavov, another 26 trolleybuses and 6 trams
will arrive in Kazan in the remaining months. According to the general director
of the MUP “Metroelektrotrans”, financing is carried out by the federal
program, in which part of the funds allocated from the federal budget, and
another part - from the state one.
The
President of Tatarstan and the Mayor of Kazan inspected the new tramcar and
trolleybuses, which were exhibited of the square in front of the Kazan River port,
and talked with employees of the MUP “Metroelektrotrans”.

Minnikhanov noted that new trolleybuses and trams will create a more
comfortable environment for passengers and employees of the MUP
“Metroelektrotrans”. ‘I believe that the level and quality of passenger service
has greatly improved. It is impossible without a proper modern technology”,
said the President of Tatarstan to journalists. “This is a completely different
technique, more comfortable. Passengers and the staff, which will work here,
will be satisfied”.

Minnikhanov pointed out that the trolleybuses and trams are eco-friendly
vehicles, which do not pollute the air, and modern trams are even virtually
noiseless.
After this,
visitors along with the other passengers traveled on the new trolleybus and
tram to stop “Tinchurina”.

Nigmatullin, the first deputy head of the municipal formation of Kazan, Andrei
Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhskiy districts administration,
Aidar Abdulhakov, the chairman of the Transport Committee, and others also took
part in the inspection of a new electric transport.
