The sculptural composition, dedicated to Vasily Aksenov, appeared in Kazan

(KZN.RU, September 3, Alsu Safina). The sculpture, dedicated to writer Vasily Aksenov, opened today in Kazan. The new art object decorated alley of the Aksenov square and was a gift for the anniversary of literary and musical festival “Aksenov-fest”. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Asia Minnulina, a sculptor, Irina Aksenova, a project architect, Sergei Solovyov, a director, Evgeny Popov, a writer, Guzel Yakhina, a winner of the “Star Ticket” award, as well as new laureates of the Prize Evgeniya Dekina and Roman Rubanov took part in the opening of the composition ceremony.

A hanger, on which a hat and coat hang, an umbrella, and the chair near, on which the dog sits, waiting for owner – that’s how Kazan citizens saw this new art object. As explained Irina Aksenova, an architect of the “Aksenov Square” project and the director of “House of Aksenov”, the key concept of sculpture lies in the personality of the writer, to which was extraordinary, talent and not stereotyping.

 “Officially, the art object called “Swing Dancing”, in fact it is “Waiting”. Vasily Aksenov was free inside, and his main motto was “to live life as if dancing swing”, which is free, improvisation”, said Irina Aksenova. “We imagined as Vasily Pavlovich took off his coat and went to “swing” and his closest friend, a dog named Pushkin, awaits him”.

 “The opening of the sculpture is a significant event in honor of the first anniversary of the Aksenov square. Let this be a good tradition: grow new stars to every “Aksyonov Fest”, new works and bright events”, said the Mayor of Kazan.

He reminded that the park was landscaped last year as part of the national program of parks and squares. “Today the Aksenov square is one of the most popular, the favorite places of Kazan citizens. You can meet couples, children, and elders here. This square has its own aura and energy”, said Ilsur Metshin and expressed the hope that the residents of the city will love the new sculptural composition.

Irina Barmetova, the literary critic, the chief editor in the “October” magazine and the festival coordinator, thanked the city government that Kazan is paid great attention to “Aksyonov Fest” and Vasily Aksenov and his work. “Aksenov did not want to have the monuments of him. The authors of the art object has taken it into account”, she said.

The sculptor Asiya Minnulina expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Kazan for the fact that she has the opportunity to show love for the city and its residents in her work. The event continued with a concert on the stage under the open sky.

Rustam Nigmatullin, the first deputy head of the municipal formation of Kazan, Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of Committee of Improvements, Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, Tatiana Prokofieva, the chief architect of Kazan, Andrei Lobov, the head of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhskiy districts administration of Kazan, and others also attended the opening of the art object.

The “Aksyonov Fest” is the annual music and literary festival, which takes place in Kazan since 2007. The award “Star Ticket” was established within the framework of the festival “Aksenov-fest” at the initiative of Ilsur Metshin,the  Mayor of Kazan. This year, “Aksyonov Fest’ takes place in the capital of Tatarstan from 2 to 5 September. The program is published on the website kzn.ru.
