Kazan schools are ready for the start of the school year

(KZN.RU, August 29, Alsu Safina). All schools of Kazan, including those in the overhaul program, are ready to welcome students. Ilsur Hadiullin, the head of Education Department, said this at the Business Monday.

He reminded that this year an overhaul of 17 schools and 3 kindergartens in Kazan was carried out on 504 million rubles, the current repair - in 286 educational institutions, on about 122 million rubles. “Repair of 4 gyms and a sports ground is going on for now”, said Ilsur Hadiullin. “City schools accepted for the new academic year, except for a few comments, which will be eliminated before the end of August”, he said.

Nearly 8 million rubles was able to collect due to the campaign for upgrade facilities “Help Your School”.

The speaker also noted that the 61 institutions adapted to the education of children with disabilities within the framework of the state program "Accessible Environment". More than 600 students will be delivered to 15 basic schools in the 19 buses. Two hot meals per day will be organized in all schools, benefits are reserved for children from poor families, and free extended-day groups will function.

New preschool institutions continue to open in the city in addition to the repair work today in the neighborhood: the kindergarten №73 opened in the residential area “Solnechny Gorod” today. “2 more kindergartens, for 620 persons, will be introduced at the end of the year”, said Ilsur Hadiullin, the head of Education Department.

He drew attention to the fact that every tenth student of Kazan, which is about 16 thousand, will learn in the second shift, and amount of these students become more and more. The need for construction of new schools every year becomes more acute due to the increasing birth rate.

“The construction of 7 schools in 8844 locations planned in the framework of the federal program in the city. Unfortunately, the construction of the school on 1224 persons in the Sovetskiy district of Kazan on the Azinskaya 2nd street is suspended due to lack of funding”, said the head of the Education Department. “There is information that the construction will resume. We hope that the school will be commissioned in 2017 September 1, time will tell”, he added later in response to questions from reporters. “It is important that children, who live in the neighborhood, will be provided a place in kindergartens and schools”. According to I. Hadiullin, only 18 schools are lacking in the new building districts.

“Construction of schools is the most crucial issue in connection with the increase in the birth rate”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. He reminded that more than 100 kindergartens were built and repaired for the last six years. “It is the turn of schools now. The load on the schools is highest”, the Mayor marked.

According to I. Metshin, Kazan schools are most loaded among the cities of Tatarstan. The Mayor expressed the hope that the problem will be resolved with the support of the republican and federal authorities.

More than 115 thousand citizens of Kazan will be studying in the new academic year in the schools of the city, including more than 14 thousand first-graders. About 68 thousand children cross the threshold of preschool institutions, and 15 thousand - for the first time.
