The collection of works of Vasily Aksenov in Tatar language will be presented in Kazan

(KZN.RU, August 29). The collection of works of Vasily Aksenov in Tatar language will be presented in Kazan. Release of the book is timed to the conduction of the anniversary X literary festival “Aksenov-Fest”, which will be opened on September 2 at the Kazan Drama Theatre named after Katchalov. Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture of Kazan, said this today at the Business Monday.

The collection of works, related to Kazan, is published by the Tatar book publishing house with the support of City Hall. This is the first book of Vasily Aksenov works in Tatar language, which will be available to readers in all municipal libraries in the city. The book presentation will be held on September 5 at the Kazan City Hall.

The anniversary festival program includes more than 20 events. Creative meetings and film screenings will be held in the museum-house of Aksenov, the cinema “Mir”, the Kazan Institute of Culture, the Kazan City Hall, the Aksenov square, as well as on the island-city Sviyazhsk. Festival theme is related to the theme of the Year of the movie this year. Poets and writers are among the guests of the festival: Alexander Tabakov, Evgeny Popov, Andrey Gelasimov, Irina Barmetova, the chief editor of “October”, and cinema representatives.

Opening of the “Akseonov Fest” will be held for the first time in the Kazan Drama Theatre named after Katchalov. Kazan audience will see two performances, directed by Julia Akhmetzyanova special for the festival: “How polyphonic night or enfant terrible and his parents” and “Simpleton in the world of jazz”. The award ceremony “Star Ticket 2016” will also be held at the theater.

The culmination of the festival will be a grand opening of the art object “Swing Dancing” or “Standby” in the Aksenov square. There also will be a literary-musical concert featuring jazz groups of the city, which take place in the park, outdoor movie screenings of movies “The Year of Literature” and the cult film “Sneakers”, meetings with directors Olga Stolpovskaya, Sergei Solovyov and writer Andrey Gelasimov, which will be held in the cinema "Mir", at the same day.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said that the festival program includes masters of literature and young names. “Kazan citizens will be able to get a detailed picture of the current literature”, said the Mayor. “It is important that the spirit of “Aksenov-fest”, founded by Vasily Aksenov himself, still lives. He requested that the festival will always have jazz, literature; that the festival will not turn into a mere museum, and I'm glad that his dream is going on for ten years”, concluded the Mayor.
