Work in schools and kindergartens, which were included in the year program, implemented by 97% at the moment, reported Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee and the chairman of the Housing Committee, on the Business Monday today.

17 secondary schools and 3 kindergartens included in the program this year in Kazan, whose budget amounted to 504.6 million rubles. Works in 10 schools and 1 kindergarten completed fully. "We can say that the next week will be the final, and after August 25 preparing schools for the new school year will begin”, said Iskander Giniyatullin.

8 types of repair work carried out in schools as in previous years: the repair of the roof, facade, blind area of ​​foundation engineering systems, bathrooms, entrances, replacement of doors and windows, and in kindergartens – setting of warm floors in nurseries and construction of sunshades on recreational sites.

The deputy head of the Executive Committee also noted that the implementation of the program “Accessible Environment”, designed to provide a comfortable environment for the training and education of children with disabilities and other low mobile populations, continues. 3 schools and 2 kindergartens in Kazan were included in the program with a total amount of 15.5 million rubles in 2016.

122 general educational institutions and 7 kindergartens repaired in Kazan in 5 years of the program implementation. More than 70 thousand students of the Kazan and almost 1,3 thousand kids opened the doors to their new classrooms and a kindergarten groups.

"The program of schools overhaul in our country is unique. The presidential program of schools overhaul become fatal after the program of elimination of dilapidated housing, along with a program of capital repair of housing stock,” said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. “This program has become a lifeline for the 122 renovated schools. And it's not just renovated rooms; it is an entirely different level of teaching. The school atmosphere changes, along with the mood of teachers and children. But it is too early to weaken the reins - the repair of kindergartens is on the waiting list”, said the Mayor. He expressed his gratitude to the President of Tatarstan, who “continues this program in the most difficult economic conditions”.

Overhaul program, launched in 2012 on the initiative of Rustem Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic, is designed for the repair of schools older than 30 years. There were 138 such schools at the time of the program start in Kazan. Pre-school establishments were added to the list of educational institutions that are subject to major overhaul, according to decision of the President in 2015.
