Ilsur Metshin: "It became an unwritten law that we are opening a different object to the City Day"

(KZN.RU, August 20, Alsu Safina). A whole series of social infrastructure openings is planned for August 30 in Kazan. "It became an unwritten law that we open a variety of objects to the Day of the Republic and the City Day. We will conclude the main work by August 30 due to the timely funding and attention of the President of Tatarstan, which himself holds weekly construction headquarters with the participation of all major builders - participants of the federal, republican and city programs. There is a whole string of openings: renovated courtyards, schools, kindergartens, parks and squares”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the today's staff meeting.

A number of facilities will be opened in the city in the pre-holiday week: a new kindergarten for 140 places in the residential complex "Solnechiy Gorod", sports facilities on the territory of schools №47 and 171, and the luminous fountain in the shopping complex MEGA. The Uritsky Park will be opened after renovation on August 30. Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, noted that there were landscaped banks of the canal, the reconstruction of the legendary bridges, walkways, piers and more.

According to him, the city solemn meeting, devoted to the awarding of city and national awards and making a record in the Book of Honor of the city, will be traditionally held on this day in the Kazan City Hall. "On this day we traditionally celebrate in the City Hall the prominent citizens and groups who make a special contribution to the development of the city, industry, business, culture, healthcare, sports, and education through their work”, said Ilsur Metshin. "Very decent citizens will be awarded for achievements in this year”.

"The tradition to celebrate Republic Day and City Day on August 30 existed nearly three decades. An entire generation has grown up in the meantime, for whom this holiday is a very welcome”, said the Mayor. “People come to Kazan and invite guests to the city. The program is organized for everybody. The heads of districts, departments and committees are seriously preparing for the holiday. We hope that everything will be organized and will take place at the appropriate level”.

Damir Fattakhov spoke in detail about the festive program, which includes the folklore festival for children and sports festival in Gorky Park, the festival "Kazan Solgese" in the Staro Tatarskaya Sloboda, the horse show at the Kazan hippodrome, an extensive concert program on the embankment at the Family Center "Kazan", and the opera festival in the open air “Kazan autumn” on the square in front of the Palace of Farmers.
