Ilsur Metshin visited the training of young Kazan yachtsmen

(Kazan City KZN.RU, June 21). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the training of young sailors. The Mayor talked to the students of sailing department of sports school "Aviator" and their coaches on the waterfront near the center of the family "Kazan". The Mayor was accompanied by Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of the Executive Committee Svetlana Vostrikova and Chairman of the Committee of Land and Property Relations Renat Galyautdinov.

Svetlana Vostrikova said that children involved in sailing since 1986 in Kazan. At the moment the department is part of the complex of youth sports school "Aviator" and is based on the peninsula Locomotive. Total about 500 children are involved in school, and more than 40 students are engaged in sailing with two trainers.

The coach-teacher Andrey Kuklin told Mayor of Kazan more information on pupils. According to him, there are multiple champions of Russia, such as Regina Zakirova, Roman Kuklin in the history department. Students of present composition are winners of All-Russian competitions. "We have qualified athletes who regularly get into the twenty of the strongest in the country", - the coach said. He added that trainings take place all year round, in winter strongest athletes leave to Sochi. Competitions begin in April. And this year they will take place in Taganrog and Gelendzhik. Three of the regatta, which will be attended by athletes from Kazan, will be held on the territory of Tatarstan: the primacy of the republic in Naberezhnye Chelny, regatta «Revival» in Sviyazhsk and "Kama sea" in Laishevo.

Young pupils of the school told the Mayor how they got into this sport, how trainings are conducted and in which competitions they participate. Young sailors said their dream is to get to the Olympic Games in the Russian team.

It is worth noting that sailing is cultivated in Kazan only in “ Aviator” school. At the same time the school has a number of problems; one of the most important of these is the land issue. As the acting director of "Aviator" Elena Rynina told, territory on the peninsula Locomotive, where the department is based, does not belong to the school. She appealed to the governor requesting registration of the land for the location of the sailing department of "Aviator". According E.Rynina, positive decision will contribute to further development of the sport. Kazan Mayor instructed to consider the issue carefully and to support budding athletes and wished them good luck and new sports victories.
