KZN.RU, June 20). In six years – since 2009 to 2015 - Municipal Unitary
Enterprise "Vodokanal" took on account more than 800 km of ownerless
communications networks in Kazan. Overall more than three thousand kilometers
of water networks and sewage systems are at the balance of organization. This
was announced today by the company's director Andrei Yegorov at the Business Monday
in Kazan City Hall.
According
to him, the deterioration of the equipment is 70%, the wear networks - 45%. It is
connected with the reception of abandoned and ownerless networks on the balance.
As A.Egorov told, only for 2015 "Vodokanal" took on the balance 99 km
of communications, 120 km will be adopted in the current year. "These
networks were adopted in a dilapidated condition, which greatly influenced at
the percentage of accidents," - A.Egorov said. According to the director
of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Vodokanal", another 100
kilometers stay ownerless.

explained that "ownerless" networks are those left by bankrupt factories,
bankrupt enterprises, and settlement network, constructed by population independently
and often spontaneously. "These objects have never belonged to the city,
no one served them. Together with districts of the city we identify them and take
on our balance,"- the director noted. A.Egorov said that such networks
have a different diameter, lay not at the desired depth, made of different
materials. "This networks are nearly 50 years old or more", - the
director of "Vodokanal" said. At the same time, despite all the
difficulties, the company supplies potable water and has one of the lowest
tariffs in Russia for water and wastewater.
Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin noted that the urban infrastructure, which Kazan and other
cities inherited, is a legacy of the Soviet Union. "At one time they were
built to last, but it was 40-60 years ago", - the Mayor said. I.
Metshin said that Kazan grows in housing and population, and this is the extra
load on the utility networks. According to the Mayor, overload of utilities
creates difficulties with the commissioning of new housing estates. "Vodokanal"
is doing everything in its power. Mayor of Kazan thanked the staff of the
company and its director for a stable professional work. "Collapses have
not been allowed, water supply in settlements and neighborhoods. And this work
must also be continued responsibly", - the Mayor said.
