In Kazan issues of energy conservation and energy efficiency in Tatarstan were discussed
(Kazan City KZN.RU, March 15). In Kazan a meeting of the Tatarstan Government dedicated to the course of realization of the state program "Energy saving and energy efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014-2020" was held. The event was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Acting Prime Minister of RT Alexei Pesoshin, Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Inyutsyn, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.
The meeting marked the priority directions of the state policy in the sphere of energy saving in Tatarstan for the current year. Among them the realization of investment programs, modernization of production facilities, the development of distributed generation with priority use of cogeneration, the introduction of energy management systems in industry and energy service contracts in the public sector and other aspects appear.
At the end of 2015 energy intensity of gross regional product in Tatarstan decreased by 23.2% compared to the base level of 2007. The challenge to 2020 is to ensure reduction of the energy intensity of the country's economy up 16.8%, according to the portal of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"Energy supply saving is our competitiveness, and if we do not meet international parameters, our business will not be very good," – R.Minnikhanov commented on the course of realization of the state program.
