Rustam Minnikhanov: "Life must boil in the parks and gardens of Kazan"

"Thanks to the decision of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov 2015 was declared the Year of parks and gardens, the city parks revival program has been developed and approved", - the Mayor of Kazan reminded. The program included 28 objects with the area of ​​half of all existing parks (147 hectares from 276 hectares).

Sum in the amount of 310 million rubles was allocated from the republican budget. Due enterprises patrons amount increased three times and reached 900 million Rubles. "There was never such a funding of Kazan parks. On behalf of all citizens of Kazan I thank leaders and labor groups for a truly great cause", - I. Metshin thanked enterprises-patrons.

The Mayor noted that due to the program children's and sports fields of injury prevention with a special rubber coating area of ​​over 2 thousand square meters appeared in the city. "This is 10 times greater than the total area of ​​the previously existing sites in the city," - the Mayor of Kazan said.

"In Kazan new traditions are born as a result of dialogue of residents and authorities, - I. Metshin said. - For the third year we hold an action "Blooming Kazan", thanks to which the city flower decoration reached a whole new level". Last year there were three times more vases of flowers than in the year of the Universiade, the area of ​​flower beds was ten football fields.

Another innovation of the last year is Flower Festival, which provides an opportunity to those skilled in the field of landscape design to show and realize their creative ideas on landscaping of the city. 14 professional teams at the sites near the Puppet Theatre "Ekiyat" embodied their vision of modern landscape architecture. This year development of the project is planned. The Mayor expressed confidence that the festival will be another powerful magnet for Kazan residents and guests.

"With the support of the President of Tatarstan this year revival of urban recreation areas will continue," - the Mayor of Kazan said. "The beginning of a large-scale project of arrangement of embankments as part of the declared Year of water protection zones was made, - the Mayor continued. - The coastline is of 362 km and still we have not had full embankments". The Mayor added that this year the city authorities will proceed with the project "Elastic Band" on the Kaban Lake.
