I. Metshin: "Transport service organization requires constant attention"

According to the Mayor, wear-out fleet of public transport is from 45% to 70%. It is planned to replace 350 buses, purchased in 2006-2008, 35 trams and 75 trolleybuses, which worked normative life, to solve the problem for three years. "Thanks to the support of the President of Republic of Tatarstan contracts for the purchase of 10 trams and 40 trolleybuses have been made", - I. Metshin said. The first tram car has already been delivered to Kazan; the delivery of the rest is planned for the first half of 2016.

Mayor of Kazan recalled the growth of traffic accidents due to the fault of the passenger transport, fixed for the first 9 months of 2015. According to Ilsur Metshin, operational meetings with the employees of transport companies were organized, briefings, raids, psychological trainings were conducted to address the problem. "As a result of this work the total number of accidents caused by urban transport in comparison with the year 2014 decreased by 13%", - the Mayor said and instructed the Committee on Transport to monitor the situation continuously.

Mayor separately raised the issue of the development of road schemes. "In 2015 the most important for the further development of the city document - Integrated traffic management scheme 2015-2020 with a view to 2030 - was designed", - the Mayor of Kazan said. In the scheme measures to prevent traffic congestion and improve the efficiency of use of the road network were adopted.

One of the important components of the project is the development of the municipal parking system. "The project is fully operational at 32 sites of the road network, - said I. Metshin. - The load average now stands at 50%, in some areas - 95%".

Municipal parking project is fully paid off for 9 months, and the road situation, estimated by the analytical center "Yandex", only for the first month of work has improved by 7% in Kazan. "With this system the average speed of traffic on the main streets of the city increased by 5 km/h, and their capacity – by 15%", - the Mayor of Kazan said.

I. Metshin also noted that the full functioning of transport is impossible without holding capital and current repairs of the road network. The Mayor said that for this purpose last year 3 billion rubles were allocated from the republican budget. Over the past year in Kazan 105 objects of the road network in the area of ​​1.1 million square meters were repaired. In 30 new residential areas roads on the streets of the total area of ​​98 190 square meters are built and repaired, for the first time in Kazan sidewalks at the total area of ​​112 square meters were repaired. As a result, in the city over the past 5 years every three square meters of roads was repaired with regard to construction and reconstruction of roads.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who was present at the meeting, called on the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin to pay special attention to the condition of the road infrastructure of the city.
