Revival of Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda
(KZN.RU, May 12th, by Taisija Basharkina). The revival of Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda
(Old Tatar Village) started in Kazan with the renovation of Yunusovsky Square.
A traditional Muslim park is to be laid out in the square. It will be thematically divided into four “maidans” (squares). One of them will feature a fountain and beds of roses, another will have a dancing floor, and yet another will be suited for walks and quiet conversation.
The improvement of Yunusovsky Square is planned to be completed this September.
