In the new academic year contingent of Kazan schools increased by 4.5 thousand people

(Kazan City KZN.RU, February 9, Kseniya Shvetsova). In the current 2015-2016 school year the number of Kazan students increased by 3389 people over the previous year and amounted to 109 764 pupils. By 2019 thanks to the two-fold birth rate growth over the past 10 years, contingent of students will increase by 16,851 people to 126,615 people in Kazan. By 2020 the construction of three new schools is planned in Kazan. However, construction would not envisage covering the need for secondary schools. This was said by the head of the Department of Education of Executive Committee of the city Ilsur Hadiullin to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin during the meeting dedicated to the issues of schools congestion.

According to the Department of Education, if the last academic year the number of students increased by 2754 person, then in the next academic year it will increase by 4541 people, 14 000 first-graders will sit at their desks. Also experts predict that in the 2017-2018 academic year, the number of students will increase by 4330 people.

Now every 10th student of Kazan study in the second shift, 60 of the 168 municipal schools work in two shifts.

For the last 10 years 9 new schools have been built in Kazan and 2 attachments were made to existing institutions, which generally give an additional 6330 new places. But at the same time, as noted in the Department of Education, schools are still lacking in the rapidly growing areas of the city. There is an urgent question about the construction of educational institutions in the districts M-70, in the streets 2nd Azinskaya, Minskaya, Noksinsky Descent. Also schools are needed in areas of the city under construction: in the residential complex “Light Valley” on Mamadyshsky tract and in the residential complex "Zalesny City", in the new housing estates "Salavat Cupere" and M-14.

"There is high school workload in Kazan. This, of course, pleases, because it shows the large number of children, but at the same time, imposes the responsibility on us, we have to maintain the pace of construction of social facilities, including schools and kindergartens, - said I. Metshin. - According to the construction of schools a federal program is adopted, so in this turn we can move forward".

In accordance with the federal program for increasing places in educational institutions of the Russian Federation for 2016-2025 years, the construction of three educational institutions is scheduled in Kazan. The new schools will be at st. 2nd Azinskaya, in the district "Salavat Cupere", at Mamadyshsky tract. The construction will be financed at the expense of federal and republican budgets; the period of the first phase of the program will end in 2020.

· In the Sovietsky district - in Kinderi settlement at 360 places, Karer settlement for 330 people, a school number 175 at st. Fayzi at 720 places,  Education Centre №178 at ave. A.Kamaleev at 550 places

· In the Novo-Savinovsky district - school №177 at st. Musin at 864 places, annexe to the building of school №6 at 140 places, school №179 at st. Bondarenko at 1375 places

· In the Aviastroitelny district - school №33 at st. Simonov at 550 places

· In the Moskovsky district - gymnasium №12 at Dekabristov Street at 240 places

· In the Vakhitovsky district - annexe to the building of secondary school №12 for 200 places

· In the Privolzhsky district - school №35 at st. Ahunov at  1001 places
